The Level 3 Award in Phlebotomy is suitable for the aesthetic practitioners who offer autologous treatments and require Phlebotomy skills. This course introduces learners to the initial theoretical knowledge underpinning the practice of phlebotomy
This qualifications is vocationally based and as such, offers the opportunity for learners to demonstrate an achievement of practical skills, understanding and knowledge in phlebotomy. Learners will gain knowledge of the holistic process of phlebotomy including caring for patients, managing procedures, communication in the workplace and record keeping
Pathway to Aesthetics
The qualification has been identified by employers, professional bodies, government bodies and insurers, as recommended for working as a clinical aesthetic practitioner, however, there are some CPD courses that can enhance the knowledge learnt to ensure that the qualified practitioner remains current and at the forefront of the industry. The NOCN Level 3 Award in Introduction to Phlebotomy (601/8812/1) introduces learners to the initial theoretical knowledge underpinning the practice of phlebotomy. The qualification is vocationally based and as such, offer the opportunity for learners to demonstrate an achievement of practical skills, understanding and knowledge in phlebotomy.
The aim of the NOCN Level 3 Award in Phlebotomy is to provide learners with a challenging qualification that will enable them to gain the advanced knowledge required for work as a phlebotomist or nonsurgical aesthetic practitioner by developing their skills and knowledge that underpins professional, ethical, safe practice of phlebotomy.
This course is made up of one unit of study:
Course Unit Format - 3 Modules:
Module 1 - Caring for Patients During the Phlebotomy Procedure
Module 2 - Understanding Phlebotomy Skills and Techniques
Module 3 - Understanding Laboratory Techniques and Blood Analysis
Course Delivery - Combination of theory via audio-visual e-learning and practical session
Course Resources - Digital portfolio and e-learning portal
Course Assessment - Online multiple choice questions, written assessment workbook, portfolio compilation and final theory examination.
Duration - 6 months consisting of 63 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). Minimum of 90 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) which includes private study time and assessment completion.

Course entry requirements – There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking these qualifications. Learners undertaking the Award in Introduction Phlebotomy do not need to be currently employed within the health sector or a related area. Learners must be aged 18 or over and fluent in English.

This qualification is suitable for aesthetic practitioners who offer PRP / iPRF / Plasma Fillers. The course is also suitable for learners who are interested in becoming a phlebotomist and who may not currently be working in the health sector or a related area.
